James M. Jimenez Named to Super Lawyers

MINNEAPOLIS — February 2010: James M. Jimenez, Los Angeles, California, business and real estate attorney, has been named by Southern California Super Lawyers magazine as one of the top attorneys in California. Each year, no more than 5 percent of the lawyers in the state receive this honor. 

Super Lawyers recognizes outstanding attorneys in more than 70 areas of practice using a rigorous, multiphase selection process that includes peer nominations, evaluation of attorneys based on 12 separate indicators of professional achievement and peer recognition, peer evaluation by other lawyers within one's practice area, and a final discipline check to verify that the attorney meets the highest ethical standards. James M. Jimenez is the founder and president of Pacific Business Law, APC. He is an outstanding trial lawyer and focuses his efforts on "bet-the-company" business and real estate litigation matters with outstanding success in courts across California. Jim has nearly 30 years experience representing entrepreneurs, corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies in complex business and real estate transactions, litigation and arbitrations involving private, public, closely-held and family-owned businesses. Jim is also very experienced in real estate transactions involving the acquisition, financing, leasing, development and sale of apartment buildings, office buildings, shopping centers, and industrial and warehouse facilities.

Mr. Jimenez earned his law degree in 1980 from Georgetown University where he served as an editor of the Georgetown Law Journal.  He graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1975. Jim also received a MBA-Finance degree from the University of Rochester Simon School of Business in 1976.

Mr. Jimenez began his legal career and intense training in 1980 when he served as a law clerk on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.  He then joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, one of the most prestigious law firms in America. Jim was a football star at the University of Rochester and is a dedicated family man. He has been involved in many charitable and non-profit activities and currently serves as Vice President of the St. Mark School Advisory Board.

Mr. Jimenez is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Business Law and Real Estate sections of the State Bar of California.  He previously served as a member of the Board of Governors of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles and the Consumer Attorneys Association of California. He also served on the Business Courts Committee of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California.
